Dreamy embroidery, organza and tons of ruffles, we’re sold! Anushree Reddy’s summer collection is perfect for a bridesmaid or a groom’s best man. Their lehenga sets with intricate embroidery are ideal for a sangeet or a day-time wedding event. Most of the pieces are set in pastels but they also do custom designs. What steals the cake for us are their textured kurtas and embroidered bandis for men that add that touch of tradition with sophistication. For that ideal reception outfit, pick one of their organza saris with intricate embroidery and a contrasting blouse for that touch of glam and poise.

Anita Dongre

It should hardly be a surprise that this brilliant designer made our list. Her summer bridal collection features not only couture but also fine jewellery. The patterns are inspired by sun-kissed gardens and is evident in the designs that flaunt cool colours and fine silks. The colour palette is bold and bright and draws inspiration from sunshine, jungles and gleaming lakes with beautiful yellows, emeralds and muted blues. The soft cherry blossom pinks, on the other hand, are dipped in their signature craft of Gota Patti and make for a great bridal outft for a day-time wedding. The Anita Dongre Man for SS18 is donning prints drawn from Rajasthani craftsmen on sage green and berry blue fabrics and in their own words, is all about perfection. We couldn’t agree more!

Tarun Tahiliani

This artist’s latest collection is headlined by the Kaif sisters and looks ethereal. The collection comprises of ivory, lilac and powder blue ensembles in Italian tulle, Ah! Tulle!, with French knot embroidery and Swarovski Crystals. Magical? We know. And wait till you look at the show stopper; a regal red lehenga with zardosi. A timeless, ageless bridal piece. Some other worthy options include a hand-embroidered anarkali with sequins and a kalidar lehenga with fringes and crystal embellishments. With his range in colours and in the variety of detailing, Tarun makes sure his collection offers something to every bride or bridesmaid and transports them to a mystical heaven.

Ekaya

This brand’s summer collection titled ‘Backyard Birds’ is a confluence of prints and handwoven motifs on lustrous silks, cottons and chiffons in muted pastels with minimalistic silhouettes. The collection comprises skirts, jackets, pants, saris and kurtas in wonderful hues of jasmine, pistachio and peaches. Their digitally printed motifs on cotton tissue paired with an embroidered blouse give a beautiful contrast in detail. We love the butterly motifs that dominate most of their collection and our favourite piece has to be the blue and lemon striped blouse with a beautiful hand-woven cotton-silk banarasi sari.

Varun Bahl

A collection that goes back to the art nouveau age and creates a series of vintage floral stories in his beautiful signature shades of ivory, peach, pale pink, old rose and pistachio. His menswear collection boasts of lovely bandhgalas and sherwanis with motifs from the neoclassical period. A groom we’d like to see this season is definitely the one in their Mutka silk sherwani and printed stole. What we adore? The blouses with bold depictions of the art nouveau period with delicate embroideries & colors that compliment the richness of the fabrics and are a complete head-turner. If you’re looking for something simpler, their Chanderi anarkalis with silk-thread embroidery are the perfect match for you.

From lehengas to lady-like pants, anarkalis to angarakhas, Italian tulles to French knots, Gota Patti to Zardosi, these five designers will make sure all your couture needs are met.You could be a to-be bride, brother of the bride, father of the groom or even a bridesmaid, tell us in the comments below who your favourite is and what outfit you’d pick.
